A mission born from responsibility
Fundação Cantoná was born from a deep sense of social responsibility and the clear vision of a Mozambican entrepreneur, Alcides Viegas.
Faced with socioeconomic challenges and climatic adversities that frequently plague communities in Mozambique, the need for rapid, structured, and effective intervention became imperative. What began as individual acts of solidarity quickly evolved into a formal institution.
We do not believe in temporary welfare that generates dependency. Our approach is based on strategic philanthropy: we provide immediate relief when crisis strikes, but we work hard to deliver the tools, education, and infrastructure necessary for each family to rebuild autonomously.
